Be illogical!

Famous consultant Alain Weiss (Million Dollar Consultant) once said: “Logic leads people to think, emotions incite them to act!” To that, I’d add: “Logic forces people to think, by dint of thinking, we become transfixed. Emotions and purpose, for their part, will lead you to reach the summit of your greatest accomplishments.

It is essential to understand that logic represents your spirit, your memory; in other words, your fears, your setbacks, the effects of past experiences, your hesitation, your doubts, etc. On the other hand, the heart, emotion, purpose and action represent the limitless possibilities of the moment: the hope, creativity, life and whim that your dream could some day become reality, etc.

Think about it for a moment: Is it logical to believe that a young man by the name of Guy Laliberté, once a street musician and fire-eater, would one day reinvent the circus industry and establish a new worldwide standard in entertainment? Today, the Cirque du Soleil IS the benchmark for all forms of entertainment all around the world and performs in front of millions of people every year. If your dream is illogical, you are on the right path, keep it up!
BE COURAGEOUS!

If you look up the word courage, you’ll discover that it derives from the latin word Cor meaning COeUr (heart). Living courageously therefore means living your life while listening to your heart, finding a purpose. A healthy measure of courage is required to be able to listen to your heart when faced with outlining your destiny, but it could be the most effective way to discover the feeling of living your life with purpose. A healthy measure of courage is also required to serve a purpose that is greater than you, but then again, sincerely serving others and a cause greater than you are two excellent shortcuts to become overwhelmed with a sense of purpose.

Embrace each crisis, setback and obstacles in life as an opportunity to GROW.

Dr. Wayne Dyer once said: « “Change the way that you look at things and the things that you look at will change.” Reread this statement carefully because within lies, in my opinion, one of the biggest secrets for success. How do you perceive your fears, your setbacks, your challenges and your obstacles? What if you began to perceive these challenges and obstacles that you come across on this unfamiliar road as an opportunity to change for the better? More importantly, are you ready to take full responsibility for this? The day that you will say with confidence: “I am responsible for EACH result that I created in my life until today (positive as well as negative), failures, my fears, etc.”... is the day that you made THE biggest step towards the pursuit of your dreams! Yes but Martin, I am not always the one responsible for this that happened to me! We have to look closely at the word responsibility. This word is made of two words actually: “RESPONSE and HABILITY”. Taking full responsibility for your life is in fact the incredible power that you have to always master your HABILITY to RESPOND to every obstacle that you face in your day-to-day life.
Embrace the UNKNOWN!

Think of Christopher Columbus for a moment. When he set out to venture through uncharted waters, fear consumed his crew at every turn. Nobody knew what would happen when the next storm hit. The winds, the tides, the storms and the unknown were factors that Christopher Columbus had to take responsibility for. He remained focused on his vision and his dream which was to find a new route to India to return with spices and silk. The sad part of the story is that he never made it to India. He did however discover America, which isn’t all that bad! This is great example of the power of finding and developing your inner strength in the face of the unknown. Maybe your adventure will not lead to your final destination, but what would happen if your adventure led you to discover YOUR OWN AMERICA?

Our days determine our lives

I recently watched a TV report on a bio-picture on the life of René Angélil, the famous husband and manager of the world’s most popular singer, Céline Dion. A big party was held in his honour in order to celebrate this great visionary’s success. At the end of the report, the journalist asked M. Angélil if he had any advice for the TV audience.

Being the student of success that I am, I grabbed a pencil and a notepad to set this man’s words of wisdom to paper; Wow! The secret of his success!

And René Angélil followed up the question in his hoarse voice and said: “If every person, whether they are 25, 35 or 50 years old, could understand how precious every single day is.” That was the advice of the most popular manager in the world. Disappointed? Not at all! People who are successful aren’t pretentious enough to think that they will live forever. If you want to experience great results, live each day as if it was your last, or at the very least, as the most precious thing in the world!
Never detract from managing the Rule of 24

The good news is that we can always count on having 24 hours in a day. The bad news is that we can only count on having 24 hours in a day. These days, an excellent leader must sustain a balance if he wants to stay on top of his means and his passion to lead. You are your own best resource. The Rule of 24 stipulates that a leader must be a master at balancing and managing his own 24 hours as expertly as he can: at work, with family, socially, while revitalizing personnel and, most importantly, health-wise. You are certainly a great manager, but never forget that you are above all the manager of the 5 above-mentioned aspects. When it comes time to double the efforts and undertake important projects, the Rule of 24 humbly reminds you that these 5 aspects are most important in your life.
